The Indian Singers’ and Musicians’ Rights Association (ISAMRA) has signed a deal with Nepal to help singers and musicians get paid fairly for their work. This agreement means that when music is played or performed in either country, the rights of the artists will be respected, and they will receive their share of the money.
The agreement was signed during a meeting in Tokyo, where leaders from ten Asian countries talked about how to make sure artists are treated fairly, no matter where their music is played. Sanjay Tandon, the head of ISAMRA, said this deal is a huge step for artists in both India and Nepal. He believes it’s not just a piece of paper; it’s a promise to treat every artist with respect and fairness.
Now, Indian and Nepali singers can easily collect money for their music when it’s played in each other’s countries. This is a great start for more teamwork between countries in South Asia.
